Normally human hair grows at a pretty consistent rate of half a millimeter per day or about half an inch per month. The rate of hair growth depends on your age, your genetics and also your hormonal state. But 0.44 millimeter per day is considered as a good average. So the maximum hair growth rate will be about 6 inches or 15 cm per year.
You can definitely see some people growing hair faster than others. Especially the mother’s hair growth surely increases during pregnancy and slows afterward. On the other hand, malnutrition leads to slow hair growth and sometimes even hair loss. Hormonal changes definitely affect the hair growth rate and character of pubic hair. They also affect the growth of facial hair in males.
One cannot do much to change his or her hair growth rate. Hair grows in a cyclic pattern. During anagen stage the hair grows. In telogen ohase growth ceases and hair falls out. For example, in case of eyebrow hair follicles they have a relatively short anagen period. Follicles on the scalp generally will have a much longer anagen phase that allows the growth even to lengths of over a meter. Hair regrowth drugs like Rogaine and Propecia prolong anagen phase, but they cannot increase hair growth rate during anagen. So during this time nothing much can be done to increase or decrease the rate of hair growth.
The growth of your hair is also directly related to how you care for it. It’s not only what you put on your hair that matters, but also what you put into it. Hair growth is directly related to the diet and nutrition. Just like any other part of your body, your hair also needs the right nutrients in right amounts. Especially, in this case, hair vitamins play an important role by providing you with proper nutrients your body needs for strong and healthy hair.
You can find a ton of hair vitamins on the market. These vitamins offer a unique blend of complete and balanced nutrients that your hair needs. They help keeping your hair in its optimal state and growing at the fast possible pace.
If your hair is not growing at its maximum potential, then improper nutrition could be the reason. Proper nutrition, including healthy supplements could help in healthy hair growth. Hair vitamins rejuvenate the hair growth by giving your hair natural amino acids, vitamins and minerals. So, they will not only give you longer hair, but also stronger and healthier hair with less breakage and thinning.
