Ingredients for homemade shampoo:
- Arnica Montana: 1-2 tbs
- Aracia Concinna: 1-2 tbs
- Water: 8 ounces
- Glycerin soap: 2 ounces
- Base oil: 1tsp
- Essential oils: 15-60 drops
- Above ingredients yields 8-10 ounces of oil
Preparation method for homemade shampoo:
For preparing oil from above ingredients, you have to perform decoction or infusion depending on the herbs you are using. Decoction is carried out on roots, stems, and seeds. Infusion is done on delicate part of the plant which could include leaves and flowers.
For decoction use a stainless steel or glass pan with water and mix herbs to it. Boil it to simmer for 10 minutes. Let is cool down. Strain off the liquid and discard the herbs.
For infusion place herb in a stainless steel container or a glass pan and bring it to boil for 20 minutes. Cool the liquid and discard the spent herb.
Mix the prepared solution with base oil, soap, and essential oil. Shake it well. Refrigerate the prepared shampoo.
Method of application for homemade shampoo:
Shake the shampoo well before use. Use 1 tbs of the shampoo to wash your hairs.
