Herbal cure for hair loss:Most of the people who lose hair seek solution for their problem from Western medicine or try medicines that are made from the local traditions. Some experts are of the opinion that ayurvedic medicine has a lot to offer in the control of diabetes. However, some experts are of the opinion that ayurvedic system has not much to provide in tackling the problem of hair loss.

Ayurveda is the ancient system of medicine that is practiced in India and Sri Lanka. It offers a comprehensive approach to treatment with a health care designed to promote a way of life than prescribe any medicines. It is a complete system of medicine and ayurveda focuses on the individual’s uniqueness and takes into account our mental state, our attitude, the lifestyle we follow and the spirit which has to be seen as part of the whole and not in isolation.

As per ayurveda, the following principles are useful for maintaining healthy and beautiful hair:

  • The scalp must be maintained in a cool atmosphere as protection from the sun, dust and others, washing in lukewarm water are of extreme importance.
  • Good nutrition is essential, and a hair friendly diet has to be taken with proteins, iron, zinc and vitamins and trace minerals, B-complex and fatty acids.
  • Hair analysis must be made to find toxicity levels and deficiencies in nutrition deficiencies.
  • Oils like sesamum, coconut should be applied to the scalp to provide nourishment and lubrication and to strengthen the roots. This will also improve circulation tot eh head.

Herbals have a natural appeal as they support the natural healing process on the body and go to the root of the problem, as opposed to tackling the problem superficially. It is not correct to present herbal solutions to hair problems as a magical cure for all the hair loss problems. There is , however, growing evidence to support the ideas that some of the herbal medicines do offer some real hope to some patients.

Ginkyo biloba: this popular herb is credited with the benefit of improving blood circulation to the skin and brain. Herbalists believe that with increased blood flow to the brain, there will be more nutrients supplies to the hair r follicle and thereby promoting growth. The dose recommended is 120-160mg of the dry extract of the medicine to be spread three times a day.

Green tea: it is considered that the catechuins found in green tea are supposed to block the enzyme 5-alpha reductase that changes testosterone into DHT that is unfriendly to hair. It is therefore hoped to be effective in stopping and treating male-pattern baldness. You have to drink several cups of green tea everyday or alternatively take a capsule as per the instructions provided by the producer.
