The hair loss due to thyroid problem will eventually slow down or it may even stop once the hormonal imbalance is stabilized. The time taken for this can be days to few months.
Hair loss in this case is primarily caused due to deficiency of amino acid lysine and iron in your body. Amino acid i.e. lysine is difficult to get via diet. Lysine is responsible for transporting iron in the body, which is very essential for metabolic activities. When the level of lysine and iron falls, body sheds some of the hair follicle to make up for it. The diet in this case should include eggs, fish, and meat. Consult a expert medical help if you suspect this problem immediately.
